A CELEBRATION OF DAVID KWINTER'S LIFE THROUGH PHOTOGRAPHS

While the case of the Estate of David Kwinter constituted a great legal victory in the face of seemingly insurmountable factual and legal challenges, the legal case should not serve to obscure the fact that David Kwinter was a real and vital person who had a profound impact on the lives of the many people he interacted with. In the midst of a roiling trial, when emotions were running at their highest and competing interests drew family members against one another, the Trial Judge, in an effort to gain a correct measure of the man who was at the center of the dispute asked Aaron Gelber to describe his assessment of David Kwinter, as a real person and not just a name on a document. In one of the few moments of clarity in his long and tortured testimony, Aaron Gelber, without hesitation and with great emotion simply stated: "He was a gentleman".

During his life, David Kwinter played many roles: an officer and gentleman who served his country nobly during World War II; a loving husband, who was married to Laya, the love of his life, for 30 years; a kind and caring father and grandfather and an accomplished business leader. And he played each of these changing roles with considerable personal dignity, kindness and loyalty. The following photographs provide a pictorial record of a good life, well lived.
